Find Out How Your Guy's Mother May Affect His Hard-On

If you've ever been with a dude who had trouble getting it up, his mom may be to blame: Guys who don't have the best relationships with their mothers during childhood are more likely to suffer from erectile problems, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

In the latest "we can't believe someone got paid to study this" news, researchers from Charles University in Prague asked 960 men to share the age when they first fell in love and what their relationship with their mom was like while they were growing up. They also surveyed the men on various penis-related problems, such as whether they tend to experience premature ejaculation and what their "typical duration of penile–vaginal intercourse" is (sex has never sounded so unsexy). The idea was to figure out what different psychological factors may affect men's hard-ons.

Turns out, a bad mother-son relationship and falling in love for the first time at an older age were both associated with greater incidences of sexual dysfunction. What's more, guys who said they had never been in love at all were more likely to have penis problems—and more likely to say their sex sessions typically lasted less than a minute (womp womp). Granted, this study doesn't prove any sort of causation—and we're sure there are plenty of men who fought with their moms growing up and are now perfectly virile. Still, boner study—had to share.
